We’re excited to be participating in the Ride2Own program, a program that provides a pathway to free e-bike ownership. The focus is on serving people who would benefit from regular e-bike use but face financial or other constraints to purchasing a bike themselves.
Earlier this year we were approached by project organizers with We All Rise and The Street Trust. They'd piloted the program with another brand's ebikes; and while participants loved the mobility they and organizers were looking for a more reliable, lighter weight and more comfortable option. After one test ride they came back all smiles, and we at Vvolt began figuring out how to support the program.
Fast forward a few months and we delivered more than 50 Alpha II bikes to new riders across the Portland metro area in May, and early data is showing the vast majority are logging lots of ebike trips, offering new mobility to folks who have limited access to auto and public transit.
Participating in this kind of work is important for us– we’re providing local communities with evidence that ebike transportation really works, and that all of us need to support public investment in improved cycling infrastructure. It’s the cheapest, greenest, most public-health-positive thing we can do to improve transportation. Thanks for your support of Vvolt, you help us make a better tomorrow.
